A vast improvement on its BlackBerry predecessor, Google Mobile App is primarily a search app that also serves as a portal to other Google Web apps. It's anchored by a search bar, with a string of icons along marching along the top. Click one to download or launch native Google apps like Gmail and maps, or to jump to mobile Web sites for the panoply of Google apps.

Warmly welcomed are autocomplete search suggestions, the ability to scroll through search history, and the ability to edit a misspelled search term and begin a new search. Brand new is a My Location feature that uses your GPS or cell tower triangulation to help localize search results, and the ability to start searching with your voice. It's disappointing, however, that most of the Google apps remain Web-based and have not merited a native application of their own--a disadvantage since the pages open by default in BlackBerry's bare-bones browser with its questionable readability.

Google Mobile App gets you the information you need quickly, with instant access to Google Search, and launches your favorite Google products. Start a search without waiting to load a mobile browser, by typing or speaking a query. Search suggestions and your search history appear as you type. Access Maps, Gmail, News and more all from one place.

Version 3.3 adds voice search and the GPS or cell tower-assisted My Location feature.
